Cofimco 35F / 35FD Twin Shaft Fan

Cofimco · For wet and severe duty

35F / 35FD Twin Shaft® axial fans

The most suitable fan for wet applications with a variable frequency drive. It combines the benefits of a flexible blade connection with strong resistance to corrosion.

  • Pultruded FRP shaft with carbon fiber, the first of its kind
  • From 20 to 40 ft, with G hub options to tune blade length and natural frequency
  • Resists aggressive conditions, including offshore and seawater

How it works

A shaft between flexible and rigid

Cofimco research and laboratory tests led to a new way of connecting the blade airfoil to the hub: a pultruded FRP shaft with carbon fiber. The material gives the blade just the right elasticity, somewhere between a flexible and a rigid connection, so the vibration the fan passes to the supporting structure is noticeably reduced.

The blade itself is a traditional aerodynamic airfoil, bolted to the shaft, with special root and tip caps riveted on. The root cap design raises total efficiency, reduces reverse airflow and spreads the air more evenly along the blade.

What you gain

  • Much lower vibration and loads on the supporting structure
  • Withstands severe duty points and the sudden high loads that large fans often see
  • Longer drive system life and a better protected structure

Built for the harshest conditions

Cofimco describes the 35F / 35FD as the first and only blade in the world with a pultruded FRP shaft with carbon fiber. It is available from 20 ft up to 40 ft (12.2 m) with different G hub configurations, and combinations of materials and paint systems are offered to resist the most aggressive environments, including offshore and seawater applications.
