TANDEM® axial fans

How it works
Two airfoils working as one
Cofimco developed the TANDEM blade through extensive research, applying aerodynamic principles to fan blades with computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulation and laboratory tests.
Each blade combines two airfoils held together by special tip and root caps. Together they create a low-pressure area that delays the air from separating from the blade, so the blade keeps working efficiently where an ordinary blade would start to lose grip.
Compared with traditional airfoils
- More lift from each blade
- Less drag and fewer vortices, so fan efficiency rises and the fan draws less power
- Can operate at a blade speed as low as 20 m/s, which lowers noise
